CARBON REDUCTION PLAN
Introduction: Welcome to Search Recruitment Ltd is committed to reducing its carbon footprint in alignment with ISO 14001 principles and our Net Zero commitment by 2040. As a globally recognised international medical recruitment agency, specialising in providing highly skilled nurses and allied health professionals to the NHS and private organisations, we acknowledge our responsibility to mitigate climate change and contribute to environmental sustainability.
Baseline Year: Our baseline year for carbon emissions will be January to December 2023. During this period, we will collect comprehensive data on our emissions across all operations, including office activities, transportation, and any other relevant areas.
Benchmarking Emissions:
- Office Activities: We will assess and monitor electricity consumption, heating and cooling usage, paper consumption, water usage, and waste generation within our office premises.
- Transportation: We will track fuel consumption and mileage for all company vehicles used for transportation, including delivery vehicles and employee commuting.
- Supply Chain: We will work closely with our suppliers to gather data on emissions associated with the products and services we procure.
Year-on-Year Improvement Targets:
- Setting Targets: Following the collection of baseline data, we will establish specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) targets for reducing emissions in each area.
- Continuous Improvement: We will implement measures to reduce energy consumption, optimise transportation routes, promote waste reduction and recycling, and encourage sustainable procurement practices.
- Employee Engagement: We will engage employees through awareness campaigns, training sessions, and incentivisation programs to foster a culture of sustainability and encourage active participation in carbon reduction initiatives.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Data Collation: We will implement robust systems for ongoing data collection, collation, and analysis of emissions data.
- Regular Reporting: We will produce regular reports on our carbon emissions, progress towards reduction targets, and initiatives undertaken to mitigate environmental impact.
-
Transparency: We will maintain transparency by sharing our emissions data and reduction progress with stakeholders, including clients, employees, suppliers, and the wider community.
ISO 14001 Compliance:
1. Environmental Management System (EMS): We will develop and implement an
EMS in accordance with ISO 14001 standards to effectively manage environmental
aspects and impacts associated with our operations.
2. Compliance Monitoring: We will conduct regular internal audits and assessments to
ensure compliance with ISO 14001 requirements and identify opportunities for
improvement.
3. Continuous Improvement: We will continually review and update our EMS to reflect
changes in regulations, technology advancements, and best practices in
environmental management.
Net Zero Commitment:
- Roadmap to Net Zero: We will develop a comprehensive roadmap outlining the steps and milestones towards achieving our Net Zero commitment by 2040.
- Carbon Offsetting: While striving to reduce our emissions internally, we will also explore opportunities for carbon offsetting initiatives to balance any remaining emissions.
- Collaboration and Innovation: We will collaborate with industry partners, research institutions, and governmental bodies to drive innovation and develop sustainable solutions to further accelerate our journey towards Net Zero.
Conclusion: Welcome to Search Recruitment Ltd is dedicated to leading by example in mitigating climate change and promoting environmental sustainability within the medical recruitment industry.
